Describe briefly the history of Paris - the task is difficult because very few cities in the world, which would have been so directly involved in grand events changed the course of world history. Rather its founders were Gauls, who built a small settlement on the left bank of the Seine. Soon there were the Romans, led by Julius Caesar, who in his "Note on the Gallic War" often refers to the city Lyutetsiya. As the threat of invasion barbarians growing, it was decided to defer the settlement to the island Site, where began the gradual expansion of cities on both banks of the river.
